Our Vision

Experiencing God's Power It is a church that will be known as a place full of the presence and power of God. It will be a church of worship, a house of prayer, and a place of miracles. It will be a church where God's power comes in contact with the culture and ultimately transforms it. It will be a church that inspires those longing for something more, something real, and something to live for.

United in Love It is a church united in love, bridging the gaps between the races, the generations, the rich and the poor. It will be a diverse fellowship that fosters deep relationships and genuine community. We will enjoy being together, having fun together, laughing together and crying together. No one will stand alone, no one will pray alone, and no one will be alone. We will be united in love and purpose.

Transforming Lives It is a church that will see thousands of transformed lives as individuals are brought into contact with a living God and a community of faith and are discipled through mentoring relationships and peer accountability. We will also begin a discipleship institute that will one day have an accredited degree program, training and equipping lay leaders and future ministers for a greater impact on our society. It is a church that will transform every person that it comes into contact with in both big and small ways.

Building Strong Families It is a church that recognizes strong families as a key part of building God's kingdom and will put significant time and energy into that effort. It is a church that will bring restoration to broken families, focusing on strong marriages and godly parenting skills. It will be a church that places great emphasis on our children, training them to love Jesus and serve others. Our kids will be a powerful witness in their schools, neighborhoods and world to spread God's love.

Providing Recovery It is a church that will provide recovery and healing for the addicted and hurting. We will work until every person in our community that is enslaved by addiction finds the opportunity for restoration and the freedom they deserve. Over the next 20 years we will see 2000 people complete the process of recovery and be involved in serving others. 

Extending Compassion  It is a church that will be known for its compassion and community involvement. We will be a church that is actively involved in serving its community and ministering to the "least of these", serving them a cup of cold water in Jesus' name. We will be active agents of God's love and grace and will stand up for those that cannot defend themselves. Our compassion ministries will focus on widows, orphans, the homeless and the poor.

Globally Minded It is a church that will have a global conscience and will challenge everyone to make an impact on the world in whatever way possible. It will be known as a generous church that will send hundreds of workers oversees each year to serve and share and will partner with international missions agencies in order to give everyone an opportunity to be involved.

Culturally Relevant  It is a church that will be seen as relevant to the needs of our community and will address current issues and biblical teachings in a framework and language that everyone can understand and grasp. We will speak the language of the gospel using modern day parables, and remove any artificial walls that may hinder people from hearing the message of Christ. It will be a church that recaptures the arts for the service and glory of God.

Our Beliefs

"We believe in one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord's Spirit. Horizons Church is an evangelical ministry affiliated with The Wesleyan Church and committed to following the way of Jesus Christ. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life and our mission and vision are rooted in a desire to further God's kingdom.
